It runs as a service in Windows NT, 2000, and XP.

In fact, it is C-Kermit (K95), so yes, it is just as scriptable.
It supports the following authentication methods:
Kerberos 4 and 5
NTLM
SRP
But obviously not in the free Windows version. There is also a Unix
version, which you can build with K4, K5, SSL/TLS X.509 certs, and/or
SRP authentication:
